About Camp Sunshine:

When a child faces serious illness, the entire family is impacted. Camp Sunshine’s mission is to provide respite and support to each family member – children, siblings, and parents. Since its inception, Camp Sunshine has offered comfort, hope, and support to over 50,000 individuals from all 50 states and 27 countries.

The families who come to Camp Sunshine have children diagnosed with cancer, hematologic conditions, renal disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, and who have undergone solid organ transplantation. They attend illness-specific sessions of varying lengths where they have the opportunity to solidify and renew their relationships while meeting others facing similar challenges. Bereavement programming is also provided for families who have lost a child to the illnesses served at Camp.

Recreational activities allow children and adults to relax and enjoy the simplicity and beauty of life along the pristine shores of Sebago Lake. Games and other events foster family involvement, encouraging joy and laughter. While at Camp Sunshine, each family stays in their own suite, equipped with two twin beds, bunk beds, a futon, full bathroom, microwave oven, and refrigerator. Mealtimes in our dining room are occasions for socializing and unwinding.

Moderated parent groups are provided during Camp Sunshine sessions and are tailored to parents’ needs. These sessions are often the first opportunity parents have had to share their experiences with others in similar situations. The groups provide a forum in which parents can gain insight and support in dealing with illness-related issues.

Camp Sunshine’s program is offered year-round and has the distinction of having been designed to serve the entire family in a retreat model. The program is free of charge to families and includes on-site medical and psychosocial support. Bereavement sessions are also offered for families who have experienced the death of a child from a supported illness.

What are they saying

I’ve participated in 4 Rally North America events and am always looking forward to the next one that they organize. Rally North America does an exceptional job organizing these events.

The checkpoints, hotels, and after-event entertainment(race tracks, etc.) are all great. Rally North America also does an amazing job picking out the best charities to benefit from their efforts.

Everyone I’ve met knows about my love for these events and this organization, I cannot say enough about how great they are!

I have been apart of Rally North America since the start in 2009. I have gained many friendships because of the experience Rally North America provides. You won’t find anything else that compares to a Rally North America event. From the planning, the charity, the people… everything is top notch!

Rally North America. How can you say enough about this group. Here are bunch of folks from all over north america, many of whom, didn’t know each other in the beginning. They welcome newcomers like they were old timers. They get together twice a year to raise money for charity and go for some really cool drives. Everyone gets along and the amount of money that they raise provides hope to so many. it is really an honor to be part of this group. The world could really use more groups like this. I know there are a lot of groups out there doing similar things in their own way, I’m just sayin’, there needs to be more like this. Rally On!

There are two aspects of RNA that are worth noting. The first is you will visit amazing sites around this great country. I have seen things that I never would have ventured to see otherwise. The second are the charities that receive money. It is nice to see fun wrapped up in giving to amazing organizations.
